About EnergyCo
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is leading NSW's transition to renewable energy, delivering the infrastructure needed to provide reliable, affordable and clean electricity to homes and businesses across the state as ageing coal-fired power stations approach retirement.
About the Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to help shape some of NSW's most significant transmission infrastructure projects.
As Manager Community and Engagement, you will lead community and stakeholder engagement for the Hunter Transmission Project. You will build trusted relationships with local communities, landholders, councils, government agencies, industry and project partners, ensuring community perspectives are understood and considered throughout project planning and delivery.
This is a fast-paced, high-profile role that offers regular opportunities to represent EnergyCo at community events, stakeholder meetings and industry forums across regional NSW. While the position may be based in Sydney, Newcastle or the Hunter, regular weekly travel between Sydney and the Hunter is required.
In addition, EnergyCo is establishing a talent pool for future Manager Community and Engagement opportunities across its portfolio of projects. As projects progress, additional roles are expected to become available including in regional locations throughout NSW.
About You
You are a relationship-focused communications and engagement leader who enjoys being out in the field, building trust and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, impacted communities and other key stakeholders.
You have experience leading engagement on major linear infrastructure or energy projects and are confident working with local councils, Mayors, MPs, Aboriginal stakeholders, government agencies and delivery partners to manage issues, build understanding and achieve positive outcomes.
A strong communicator and trusted adviser, you combine strategic thinking with a practical, on-the-ground approach. You are comfortable developing engagement strategies and providing quality advice, while also spending time in communities, listening to concerns and building relationships that support project success.
Regular travel is an important part of this role, and you'll enjoy engaging directly with communities and stakeholders across the Hunter region to ensure local perspectives are heard and considered.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Capacity and willingness to travel to regional locations, and to work outside of core business hours in the morning, evening and on weekends.
