About the role 

Join the Office of Sport and play a key role in delivering engaging programs and services that enable people across NSW to participate in sport and active recreation.  

As a Program Coordinator, you will oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of programs for schools, community groups and individual participants, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and high-quality outcomes. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will lead frontline program staff, build strong stakeholder relationships and help maximise the utilisation of the Office's world-class sport and recreation facilities. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead the planning and delivery of sport, recreation and educational programs, ensuring services meet customer needs and deliver outstanding participant experiences. 
  • Supervise and support program delivery staff, fostering a customer-focused culture and ensuring programs are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community groups and other stakeholders to drive repeat business, coordinate resources and maximise facility utilisation. 

 

About you  

You leverage proven experience in the development and delivery of outcome focussed programs and/or service packages to meet the needs of clients. You utilise demonstrated experience leading teams, balancing multiple priorities and building strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You contribute sound knowledge of contemporary priorities for supporting school-based learning and student wellbeing.  

 

Essential requirements  

  • Obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.  
  • Undertake a pre-employment medical assessment confirming capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role and ongoing health monitoring as required by the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulation 2025.  
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or a Certificate IV Outdoor Recreation/Leadership and relevant industry experience.  
  • Current Class C drivers licence.  
  • Requirement to work across any day of the week (Monday to Sunday), including evenings and participation in on call arrangements, in line with business and roster needs.
