About the role

The National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking a motivated and organised Administrative Assistant to provide essential administrative and customer service support to a busy and passionate team dedicated to conservation, visitor experiences and environmental stewardship across New South Wales.

As the backbone of daily operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently. The tasks of this office based role include  coordinating meetings and events, managing records and correspondence, processing purchasing and financial transactions, and maintaining office systems and supplies, you will help enable frontline teams to deliver important outcomes for our parks, wildlife and communities.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with internal teams, stakeholders and members of the public, providing high-quality customer service and responding to a range of enquiries with professionalism and care. You may also have the opportunity to support operational activities during incidents such as fire and emergency response situations.

 

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented administration professional who enjoys providing exceptional support and customer service. Highly organised and adaptable, you can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

You bring experience using a range of computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office applications, records management systems and administrative databases. Your strong communication skills, collaborative approach and commitment to service excellence allow you to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You are someone who takes initiative, enjoys being part of a supportive team and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently behind the scenes. Experience with administrative processes and high volume email management, fleet support, organising meetings, arranging catering and accommodation, purchasing and financial transactions along with office coordination will set you up for success in this role.

Essential requirements

  • Experience in administration including the use of computer based systems such as word processing, spreadsheet and records management and records management systems.
  • Knowledge of financial and human resource management procedures, policies and practices.
