We are seeking a highly motivated Project Officer to support the delivery of key financial, technology and stakeholder engagement initiatives across a diverse portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your accounting knowledge, project coordination skills and passion for helping others succeed.

 

You will work closely with volunteer boards, executives, finance professionals, bookkeepers and business partners to drive the adoption of financial systems, deliver meaningful reporting and support critical financial programs.

 

The role

As a Project Officer, you will coordinate and support the delivery of projects and business initiatives through effective project governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting activities.

You will be responsible for monitoring project performance, managing budgets and financial reconciliations, preparing reports and analysis, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting procurement and vendor management processes, and providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and ensure successful project outcomes.

About You

  • You are an enthusiastic and adaptable professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and delivering results.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, complex formulas, data analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and account reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to present financial information clearly and confidently to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to maintaining data integrity.

 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Background or interest in accounting, technology and project management (particularly in financial software projects)
  • Competency in Xero accounting software
