Senior Procurement Officer 

 

  • Salary ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 + super & leave loading 
  • Temporary full time opportunity up to 2 years 
  • Based at Sydney Olympic Park location with one day at The Rocks office – flexible work arrangements will be considered. 
  • An exciting opportunity to work collaboratively between Office of Sport and Destination NSW 

 

About the role 

As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will partner with Destination NSW to deliver strategic, end-to-end procurement outcomes that achieve value for money, support business objectives, and align with NSW Government procurement legislation and policy. Operating within the Office of Sport’s accredited procurement environment, you will play a key role in supporting concurrence processes, strengthening governance, and building Destination NSW’s capability as it progresses towards procurement accreditation. 

 

This role is responsible for leading procurement planning, sourcing, and contract management activities, underpinned by market analysis, risk assessment, and compliance practices. You will provide expert advice and guidance across the organisation, uplift procurement capability through coaching and training, and ensure all activities are fully documented to meet probity and audit requirements. 

 

About you  

You are a highly capable procurement professional with strong experience delivering end-to-end sourcing and contract management outcomes within a government or regulated environment. You bring a sound understanding of NSW Government procurement legislation, policies, and accreditation requirements, and are confident navigating complex governance and compliance obligations. 

 

Through strong stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management, you will have demonstrated strengths in negotiating and managing contracts, driving performance, and supporting continuous improvement of procurement policies, systems, and processes to enable high-quality, compliant outcomes. 

 

Key knowledge and experience 

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of high-quality procurement services in a public sector environment is highly desirable. 

 

 

Essential requirements 

  • Degree qualification in a related field or significant equivalent experience.
