Opportunity to use your technical expertise to protect critical infrastructure from corrosion for communities throughout NSW
- Ongoing full-time at 35 hours per week plus Flextime
- Located at Parramatta with hybrid working supported
- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $133,348 to $146,945 + super and leave loading
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Electrolysis and Corrosion Protection (ECP) team, where you will play a key role in protecting the safety, reliability and resilience of NSW's critical infrastructure. You will provide specialist technical advice and regulatory oversight to support the NSW Government's responsibilities under the Corrosion Protection Regulation 2020, working closely with infrastructure asset owners, industry bodies and government stakeholders.
The role combines field inspections, technical audits, risk assessment and regulatory compliance, while contributing to the development of the regulatory framework, industry guidance, research initiatives and state and national programs. Your expertise will help identify emerging electrolysis and corrosion risks, promote compliance and ensure corrosion protection systems continue to safeguard public safety and energy security across NSW.
About You
You are a technically capable and collaborative professional with demonstrated knowledge of electrolysis, corrosion protection systems and the risks these pose to critical infrastructure. You have experience inspecting and auditing corrosion protection systems, interpreting technical reports and applying relevant standards, codes and regulatory frameworks to support sound, evidence-based decisions. Your analytical approach enables you to identify emerging risks and develop practical, risk-based recommendations that improve safety of public and asset integrity.
You build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and communicate technical information clearly and confidently. Comfortable working across multiple priorities, you remain calm under pressure and are able to provide timely, high-quality advice to support regulatory outcomes. You are committed to continuous improvement and enjoy contributing to industry forums, technical committees and collaborative initiatives that strengthen corrosion protection practices across the sector.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in the following disciplines: Chemical, Electrical, Process Engineering (or equivalent trade qualifications and experience) or;
- Trade qualifications in electrotechnology with experience in the utilities or related industry.
