The role
In this role, you'll lead the coordination of complex tenancy fit-out projects across some of Sydney’s most iconic public precincts, ensuring tenants can move into safe, compliant and operationally ready spaces. You'll oversee the entire tenancy delivery process, bringing together commercial, design, operational, heritage and regulatory requirements while managing risks, approvals and stakeholder expectations to achieve successful outcomes.
Working in a fast-paced and highly visible environment, you'll provide expert advice, negotiate outcomes, and build strong relationships with tenants, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders. You'll play a key role in balancing competing priorities and resolving complex issues to ensure fit-out projects are delivered on time, meet compliance requirements and support Placemaking NSW's commercial and operational objectives.

What you will bring to the role
- Extensive experience leading complex tenancy, fit-out, property or infrastructure projects involving multiple stakeholders and high-risk interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of leasing frameworks, fit-out governance, contractor coordination and regulatory compliance within large property or asset portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic, risk-based advice and make sound decisions in commercially sensitive and time-critical environments.
- Proven experience influencing and negotiating outcomes across government, tenants, contractors, consultants and service providers where responsibilities are shared.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex work programs, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex information, build consensus and drive outcomes across diverse groups.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify risks, resolve complex issues and continuously improve processes and governance frameworks.
- Resilience, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments with competing commercial, operational and regulatory priorities.
- Experience leading teams and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
What is an essential requirement:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, construction management, architecture or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
