About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. 

 

As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the team by providing high-quality administrative and customer service support. You will help ensure the efficient delivery of business activities through the coordination of administrative processes, maintenance of accurate records and systems, and professional support to both internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

About You

 

You are a highly organised and customer-focused administration professional who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys supporting teams to achieve their goals. With strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills, you can confidently juggle competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and delivering high-quality outcomes.

 

You bring experience providing administrative support across a range of functions, including document management, purchasing and ordering, records maintenance, correspondence, office coordination and customer service. You are comfortable using a variety of systems and databases, ensuring information is accurate, well maintained and easily accessible.

 

A natural communicator, you build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and provide professional, responsive service when handling enquiries and requests. You are equally confident supporting meetings and events, coordinating logistics, preparing documentation and taking minutes.

 

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience maintaining records, databases and office systems.
  • Confidence in coordinating meetings, events and related logistics.
  • Sound skills in purchasing, financial administration and processing routine transactions.
  • A proactive approach to supporting teams and improving workplace efficiency.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and resilience, with a willingness to support operational and incident management activities when required.

 

Most importantly, you are a reliable team player who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture.

 

Essential requirements 

  • Experience in administration including the use of computer-based systems such as word processing, spreadsheet and records management and records management systems.
  • Knowledge of financial and human resource management procedures, policies and practices.
