About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
We are seeking a motivated and capable Project Officer (Clerk Grade 7/8) to support the planning, coordination and delivery of infrastructure and construction projects across the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) estate.
Working with project managers, contractors and key stakeholders, you will contribute to the delivery of projects that enhance and maintain park infrastructure, visitor facilities and operational assets. You will assist with project planning, procurement activities, contract administration, risk management and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements.
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of infrastructure and construction projects across the NPWS estate.
- Assist with procurement processes, contract administration and contractor management to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and milestones, providing accurate reporting and project documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the management of project risks, including work health and safety, environmental and operational considerations.
- Undertake research, analysis and problem-solving activities to support informed decision-making and continuous project improvement.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience or exposure to areas such as infrastructure and construction projects, procurement and contract management, asset management, Work Health and Safety (WHS), environmental management, quality assurance, roads and civil works, and risk or insurance management.
This opportunity is suited to a proactive project professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, managing competing priorities and contributing to projects that support the protection and enjoyment of NSW's natural and cultural heritage.
Knowledge and experience
- Experience in development and delivery of infrastructure projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
Essential requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
