About the role
NPWS is seeking two Senior Project Officers (Clerk Grade 9/10) to lead major projects that will transform visitor experiences in Dorrigo National Park.

The Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk and the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre & Skywalk are transformational projects that will create world-class visitor experiences in the heart of the Gondwana Rainforests. These projects are currently progressing through major design, procurement and construction phases, making this a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.

Senior Project Officer – Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk (DEGW)
Be part of the team delivering a spectacular multi-day walking experience featuring approximately 46km of new walking track, hiker camps, pedestrian suspension bridges, viewing infrastructure and visitor interpretation. With construction already underway we’re looking for someone who brings experience in:

• Project and budget management – delivering complex infrastructure projects up to $20M.
• Walking track and visitor infrastructure delivery – delivering tracks, bridges, campsites and visitor facilities, including the use of mapping systems.
• Contractor and contract management – managing contractors, operational plans and GC21 contracts.
• Remote-area delivery – coordinating logistics, including helicopter operations.
• WHS, environmental and risk management – applying safety, compliance and environmental controls.
• Cultural heritage management and stakeholder engagement – working with consultants, contractors, internal teams and cultural/environmental stakeholders.

Senior Project Officer – Dorrigo Rainforest Centre & Skywalk (DARC)
Help bring the next generation of Dorrigo's visitor infrastructure to life. This exciting project includes the delivery of a new Rainforest Centre and iconic Skywalk, creating a destination experience for visitors from across Australia and the world. The project is progressing through final design and major procurement stages, with construction delivery to follow.

You'll bring experience in:

• Complex infrastructure project delivery– managing projects through planning, design, procurement, construction and delivery.
• Project and budget management– including experience with high-value projects and full lifecycle delivery.
• Contractor, procurement and contract management – especially tender processes, contractor engagement and GC21 contract administration.
• Planning, regulatory and compliance knowledge – including NSW planning, environmental, building, WHS and risk requirements.
• Stakeholder engagement and communication – working with consultants, contractors, internal teams and cultural/environmental stakeholders.
