About the Role
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is establishing a talent pool for upcoming Senior Field Supervisor opportunities across the North Coast Branch region. These roles are a great opportunity to combine your practical field experience, leadership skills and passion for conservation in a meaningful, hands-on role
As a Senior Field Supervisor, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role in planning, coordinating and delivering works and maintenance programs that support conservation, cultural heritage protection and safe visitor access. You’ll supervise field staff, contractors and volunteers; coordinate resources, plant and equipment; and help deliver works such as roads, fire trails, walking tracks, signage, visitor facilities, asset maintenance and conservation-related projects.
The role also supports fire, pest animal and weed programs, and includes a key leadership role in fire management responsibilities.
About You
We’re looking for people who are practical, organised and confident leading teams in the field.
You’ll bring experience in planning and delivering maintenance or construction programs, supervising staff or contractors, managing plant and equipment, and working safely in outdoor environments.
You’ll also be someone who can communicate clearly, build strong working relationships, manage competing priorities and support a positive team culture. The role requires the ability to work with staff, managers, contractors, volunteers, visitors, neighbouring landholders, Aboriginal communities and other government agencies.
This is a physically active role suited to people who enjoy working outdoors as part of a team and are keen to keep developing the skills and qualifications needed to care for NSW’s natural places.
