Our Ecosystems and Threatened Species branch is currently seeking to appoint 8 x Senior Project Officer.
Join the Ecosystems and Threatened Species branch within DCCEEW and play a key role in driving the strategic design, coordination and delivery of complex environmental programs and initiatives that contribute to the protection and conservation of NSW’s ecosystems and threatened species.
In this role, you will lead high-impact projects, provide strategic advice to inform decision-making, prepare executive and ministerial briefings, and build strong partnerships across government and external stakeholders. Working within a collaborative and purpose-driven team, you'll help shape policy, improve program outcomes and contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes for communities across NSW.
About You
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects, programs or policy initiatives for conservation and threatened entities
- Identify strategic planning, implementation and collaboration opportunities that support program priorities and address emerging delivery needs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate across a diverse range of internal and external partners.
- Experience providing high-quality strategic advice, analysis, reports, briefings and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Sound understanding of environmental, ecosystems, threatened species, and conservation management programs and associated policy frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive project outcomes and deliver results within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards.
- Experience overseeing procurement, contracts, grants or service providers while ensuring compliance and value-for-money outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise and audience-appropriate written and verbal communications.
- Degree qualifications in science, environmental management, conservation management and ecology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

- A degree in science or in a relevant natural resource discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
