In this role, you will provide specialist transport engineering advice that helps turn ambitious development and infrastructure proposals into practical outcomes for communities. You'll assess how projects can be delivered, identify opportunities and risks, and help ensure transport infrastructure is designed with safety, resilience and long-term community benefit in mind. Working alongside planners, government agencies and industry professionals, you'll help shape decisions that support growing and connected communities across NSW.

We're looking for someone who:

• Brings strong transport or civil engineering experience and enjoys solving complex development infrastructure challenges.
• Can confidently assess feasibility, constructability and infrastructure impacts relating to development, applying sound judgement to reach balanced outcomes.
• Understands that good engineering is ultimately about creating better outcomes for the people who use and rely on infrastructure every day.
• Builds credibility quickly and develops productive relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
• Communicates technical information clearly and can translate complexity into practical advice and recommendations.
• Is naturally curious, collaborative and motivated by continuous learning and improvement.

Essential requirements 

• Tertiary qualification in a related relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering - Civil/Transport). 
• Eligibility for professional recognition or registration as an engineer is desirable, where relevant to the role and the department’s workforce requirements.
