The role
Lead a small, high-performing team responsible for managing Crown land assets and property across a diverse portfolio. In this role, you'll oversee land and asset management activities, provide expert advice, build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure projects and operational programs are delivered effectively, sustainably and in line with legislative requirements.
You'll work with a broad range of customers, government agencies and community stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, environmental considerations and commercial outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide your team, manage multiple sites and projects, and help deliver positive outcomes for communities across NSW.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a small team, creating a collaborative and accountable culture that delivers results.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence outcomes and navigate challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy.
- Experience managing land, property, natural resource, environmental or asset management programs within a complex operational environment.
- Well-developed project management skills, including coordinating multiple sites, managing competing priorities, monitoring progress and delivering outcomes on time and within budget.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures to support sound decision-making and effective risk management.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance departmental objectives, customer needs and stakeholder expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial and operational targets, allocate resources effectively and drive continuous improvement.
- A customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services and building positive community and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong organisational skills and resilience, with the ability to lead a team in a high-volume environment while managing complex commercial, environmental and operational issues.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in natural resources, planning, environmental science, land management or other relevant field and/or equivalent level of knowledge and experience in the industry.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
