In this role you will

You'll provide technical mining advice on major development and infrastructure proposals, working with complex assessments and modelling to help inform planning decisions. You'll build trusted stakeholder relationships, contribute to workshops and site visits, support team capability, and help improve how we deliver services and outcomes.

You'll have the opportunity to apply your expertise to meaningful projects, work with a diverse range of stakeholders, and see your advice influence decisions that shape communities across NSW. About you
Knowledge of the NSW planning, assessment and approval environments including relevant legislation, policy, regulations, standards and codes of practice.

• Experience in mining advisory environments (government, operator, consultancy or equivalent).
• Experience undertaking mining assessments including complex analysis, geological and resource modelling, mine design feasibility and optimisation studies, risk interpretation and GIS mapping.
• Experience interpreting and applying mining assessment principles, standards and safety obligations into real life scenarios.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders across complex projects and proposals.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support team members through technical guidance, quality reviews and knowledge sharing
• Proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders through workshops, consultation activities, site visits and other engagement forums

Essential Requirements

• Degree qualification in a related relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience e.g., Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Environmental Science.
