The Program Manager, Credit Inventory plays a key leadership role in managing a portfolio of high value biodiversity credits and stakeholder relationships through the contract lifecycle to ensure credit purchases and sales are achieved to meet stakeholder requirements.

The role supports the effective operation of the Credits Supply Fund in buying and selling biodiversity credits, and contributes to financial management, analysis and funding discussions to support sound financial and operational outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and implementing contract management processes and strategies for the Credits Supply Fund to ensure efficient, transparent operations in line with competitive neutrality requirements
• Maintaining the integrity of contract information and overseeing contract fulfilment including responding to unavoidable changes in delivery by updating contractual arrangements and continuing to match credit demand and supply
• Building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships with buyers and sellers to proactively identify, manage, report and mitigate contractual risks, maximise contract value and ensure contract outcomes are achieved.
• Leading risk management activities by identifying, categorising, assessing and reporting risks while implementing appropriate mitigation strategies to support informed governance and delivery of outcomes.
• Supporting the monitoring of the Credits Supply Fund’s inventory, balance sheet and Profit and Loss Statements, identifying issues early to support effective financial management, and contributing to funding-related discussions with other branches and agencies.

About You

You have a passion for delivering programs that create meaningful environmental outcomes. You bring a collaborative approach, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders including government and private sector stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Brings experience and knowledge in managing high volume portfolios or environmental programs
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills and build trust at all levels including with government and private sector stakeholders
• Enjoys working collaboratively with legal, procurement, finance and technical experts to achieve quality outcomes
• Has experience working in environmental, biodiversity or natural capital markets, or demonstrates a strong interest and willingness to build this knowledge.
• Is highly organised, with experience keeping track of fast-moving projects and confidently navigating sensitive and complex issues
• Can identify, assess and manage contractual, operation and financial risks
• Is proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance transparency and drive operational efficiency
• Has experience in leading and developing teams to deliver high-quality, outcomes-focused work.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications, or demonstrated equivalent experience, in legal, environment or economics related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
