  • Package includes salary relative to experience, ranging from $87,199 to $95,482 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation

 

About the role

The National Parks and Wildlife Service has an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused Administration Support Officer to join the North Western Sydney Area team.

This is a key role providing high-quality customer service and supporting frontline staff who work to protect and manage some of NSW's most valued natural and cultural assets. As the Administration Support Officer for North Western Sydney Area, you will work closely with the Area Manager and leadership team to provide high-quality administrative, financial and business support and play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the Area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to visitors, stakeholders and staff.  
  • Providing support across financial, procurement, human resource and recruitment processes in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring budgets, processing financial transactions and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Maintaining records, databases and office systems to ensure information is accurate, accessible and compliant.
  • Managing fleet administration, logistics and resource coordination for operational activities, including planned and wildfire operations.
  • Delivering professional and responsive customer service to staff, visitors and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating meetings, events, travel, accommodation and associated documentation.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, briefing notes, agendas, minutes and other business documents.
  • Tracking actions, managing deadlines and ensuring key business priorities are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Assist during operational incidents, including emergency response activities when required.   

This role relies on strong business systems capability and will utilise a range of corporate platforms, including MyWorkZone, SAP Concur, Content Manager, FCM Travel, PageUp, and the Microsoft 365 suite.

 

About You

We're looking for people who have:  

  • Proven administration and business support experience – providing reliable support across office, records, correspondence, shared mailbox management and team coordination tasks.  
  • Strong organisation and time management skills – managing multiple priorities, deadlines, meetings, travel and documentation.  
  • Excellent communication skills – preparing clear correspondence, coordinating with others and engaging confidently with staff, visitors and stakeholders.  
  • A customer service approach– delivering helpful, professional and responsive support to internal and external customers.   
  • Strong attention to detail – maintaining accurate records, reports, databases and business systems.  
  • Financial management skills – understand financial and budgeting principles, system reporting and analysis.
  • Technology and systems skills – confidently using Microsoft 365, records management and financial administration systems.  
  • People management skills – engaging, motivating and developing team members to build capability and support their potential. 
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and flexibility - to support a diverse range of business and operational activities while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
