Our Water team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer, Reconnecting River Program

As a Senior Project Officer within the Reconnecting River Program, you will lead and coordinate complex projects that contribute to sustainable water resource management, environmental outcomes and community benefits. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, manage project delivery from planning through to implementation and evaluation, and play a key role in achieving program objectives within a dynamic and values-driven environment.

Working as part of a high-performing team, you will oversee project plans, budgets, reporting and governance requirements while providing strategic advice on project risks, issues and opportunities. You will engage with government agencies, community stakeholders, consultants and service providers to ensure successful project outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys building strong relationships, driving continuous improvement and contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes for communities across NSW

About You

You will bring: 

• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects from planning through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, consultation and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse groups.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets in a dynamic environment with multiple concurrent demands.
• Experience identifying, managing and mitigating project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, presentations and project documentation.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to provide evidence-based recommendations and advice.
• Experience working within governance frameworks, project management methodologies and compliance requirements. Ability navigating approval processes and coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Sound financial management skills, including budget monitoring and resource coordination.
• Contract management and procurement experience or the ability to quickly develop capability in these areas.
• A collaborative, adaptable and proactive approach, underpinned by integrity, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous improvement and positive team outcomes.
