  • Salary ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 + super & leave loading. 
  • Temporary, Fulltime - 12 months opportunity with the possibility of extension 
  • Based at Sydney Olympic Park location – flexible work arrangements will be considered. 

  

About the role 

The Office of Sport is seeking a motivated and capable Regulatory Officer Combat Sports to support the regulation of combat sports and motor vehicle racing activities across NSW. In this role, you will exercise delegated regulatory functions under the Combat Sports Act 2013, contribute to important compliance and licensing activities, and support projects that improve regulatory outcomes for industry participants and stakeholders. 

Working within the Regulation team, you will engage with combat sport participants, promoters, approved amateur bodies, sporting organisations and other stakeholders while helping deliver effective, evidence-based regulatory services. This is an exciting opportunity to combine regulatory work, stakeholder engagement and project delivery in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Undertake regulatory functions including the assessment and processing of registrations, permits and approvals in accordance with the Combat Sports Act 2013 and other relevant legislation. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry participants, sporting organisations and key stakeholders while providing advice and responding to enquiries. 
  • Support the delivery of projects through research, data analysis, reporting and monitoring activities that contribute to informed decision-making and improved regulatory outcomes. 

 

About you  

You are an organised and proactive professional who enjoys balancing regulatory responsibilities with project-based work. You have experience interpreting and applying legislation, managing competing priorities and building positive relationships with stakeholders. 

You are a strong communicator with an analytical mindset, capable of gathering and assessing information, identifying issues and contributing practical solutions. You take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes while maintaining integrity, professionalism and a customer-focused approach. 

 

Essential Requirements 

  • Demonstrated experience undertaking regulatory activities and applying legislation, policies or regulatory frameworks. 
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or delivering complex projects. 

 

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and pre-employment checks.
