The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Coordinator Risk & Governance to join our Governance and Integrity team and help strengthen risk management, governance and controls across the EPA.
This is an opportunity to work closely with the Manager Risk and Governance, EPA Board, Executive and senior leaders to deliver effective risk and governance frameworks that support the EPA’s strategic priorities.
This is a role where your risk and governance expertise can make a tangible difference, helping to strengthen organisational practices, provide trusted advice and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to develop practical risk and governance tools, support senior leaders and contribute to whole of government risk and governance initiatives.
You will also prepare high-quality advice, briefings and submissions and have the opportunity to influence decision making on important governance, risk and control matters.
About you
You are an experienced risk and governance professional with strong analytical skills and sound judgement. You are confident providing practical advice, working with senior stakeholders and navigating complex issues.
You are collaborative, solutions focused and committed to strengthening governance and risk practices across an organisation.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, governance or a related field, preferably in a complex or public sector environment.
- Strong understanding of risk and governance frameworks and their practical application.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing briefings, submissions, reports and advice for senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and teams.
- Experience developing and implementing risk and governance tools, processes or frameworks and supporting others to apply them.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and strengthening governance, risk and control practices.
- Knowledge of NSW Government governance and risk management frameworks is highly regarded.
About the team
Our Governance and Integrity team within the EPA Legal, Governance and People Division, leads risk management, requests for access to EPA information, complaints, governance issues and undertakes internal audits.
