NSW Heritage Stoneworks delivers specialist heritage conservation and restoration projects that protect and extend the life of some of NSW's most significant government buildings and assets.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified and experienced plumbing professionals and particularly interested in hearing from people with specialist experience working on heritage buildings, including:
- Slate roofing
- Heritage gutters and rainwater goods
- Lead work and flashings
- Copper roofing and associated heritage detailing
- Water supply connections to site sheds and temporary site infrastructure
- Heritage plumbing and roofing inspections
Heritage roofing and plumbing expertise is highly valued and increasingly difficult to find. We are looking for skilled tradespeople who take pride in preserving historic buildings and applying traditional techniques to support the conservation of NSW's iconic heritage assets.
You will be able to:
- Conduct quality and safety inspections across active project sites.
- Assist with estimating and planning future works.
- Work autonomously and comfortably undertake inspections on scaffolds, within roof spaces and in other physically demanding environments.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
The essential requirements of this role include:
- A trade certificate or equivalent in a construction craft stream of Carpentry and Joinery, Stonemasonry, Scaffolding, Bricklaying, Painting, Plastering, Plumbing, Electrical or Mechanical with relevant hands-on experience in plumbing and roofing inspection and certification.
- A post trade certificate, or equivalent qualification and/or expertise in a construction stream.
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- A valid NSW Driver Licence
- Willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays
