About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for the Manager Parks Policy role to work as part of the team and contribute to the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal and historic heritage.
The role will lead and manage the Parks Policy Unit to development and review of relevant legislative and Cabinet proposals, operational strategies and policies for National Parks and Wildlife Service to support the achievement of NSW Government and corporate outcomes.

- with strong leadership capabilities and experience in strategic policy and legislative reform.
- who can navigate the policy process with confidence and have demonstrated experience developing evidence-based initiatives that contribute to delivering government objectives.
- who is persuasive and inclusive communicator and can prioritise working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve outcomes.
- who is an effective and flexible people leader, adept at providing strategic direction, building a strong team culture and mentoring and managing for performance and development.
- who can manage multiple competing priorities while delivering project outcomes.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated extensive experience leading the successful review and development of practical operational policy which supports legislative and regulatory reforms and experience representing a government agency at industry and public forums.
- Detailed understanding of government processes, policy and procedures, with the ability to guide strategy, policy and legislative reforms through Cabinet, parliamentary and other government processes.
