The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking to appoint an Information Access and Privacy Officer to join the fast-paced working environment of the Information Access and Privacy team.
About the role
In your role you will also be supporting and providing advice on other statutory, reporting and compliance functions relating to privacy and information access, in addition to helping to develop and improve internal processes and procedures. You may also be involved with the delivery of training to ensure staff are aware of their obligations for both access to information and privacy. You will also provide advice and support on a range of statutory, reporting and compliance functions relating to information access and privacy. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, procedures and guidance materials to support best practice and legislative compliance across the department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have prior experience interpreting and providing advice on legislation. Working knowledge and experience in the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records and Health Records Act 2002 is preferred, but not essential for the role.
You will have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide trusted advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will have advanced organisational skills and be able to work independently and flexibly to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
