EnergyCo is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
About the Opportunity
Our EnergyCo Operations team is currently seeking to appoint a Director, Project Procurement to lead the strategic and operational procurement function for EnergyCo. The role is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies and processes that enable efficient, transparent and compliant sourcing and contracting.
Working closely with senior executives, the role provides expert procurement advice and acts as a key advisor on innovative, commercially sound approaches to project delivery. The Director oversees a centralised procurement function that establishes organisation‑wide standards and governance and assurance frameworks to ensure consistency, compliance and alignment with business and policy objectives.
The role collaborates closely with the Chief Project Officer and project teams to support the delivery of complex projects and ensure procurement practices effectively enable project outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced procurement leader with a strong background in commercial infrastructure procurement within the government sector. You have successfully led the procurement of project specialists and complex professional services, developed robust governance and assurance frameworks, and delivered value-for-money outcomes in large, high-profile programs.
You bring strong commercial acumen and expertise in sourcing strategy, contract establishment and procurement governance, while supporting project teams and business partners to effectively manage supplier and consultant contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
You are skilled at navigating complex policy, commercial and stakeholder environments, providing trusted advice that balances risk, compliance and project delivery outcomes. An exceptional communicator, you build strong relationships across organisations and with external partners, translating complex information into practical solutions in fast-paced and evolving environments.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Who we are?
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority network infrastructure projects (PNIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
