About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer, Standards and Metrics to work as part of the Conservation Programs team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

As a Project Officer, Standards and Metrics, you'll help drive effective feral animal management programs by ensuring critical data is accurate, accessible and meaningful. You'll maintain and enhance key information systems, analyse data to generate insights, develop reporting tools and spatial databases, and support informed decision-making across the organisation.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and stakeholders to deliver real environmental outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in data analysis, reporting and information management, with the ability to interpret data and provide clear, actionable insights. You will have experience working with databases and business systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality reports and written communications.

You will also demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills, experience providing system support or user guidance, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with spatial data, GIS applications, or environmental and natural resource management programs will be highly regarded.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
