Bank of China limited first opened its branch office in Hong Kong in 1917. After the listing of BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) Limited, a subsidiary of the Bank, on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2002, Bank of China maintained the branch in Hong Kong which continued to hold a full banking license granted under the Banking Ordinance (Cap. 155) and was registered as an authorized institution under the Banking Ordinance. Bank of China uses this branch primarily to conduct financial markets businesses, which include foreign-currency denominated debt security investment management, issuance of CDs (Certificates of Deposit)/MTN/senior debts, investment of on-shore RMB debt securities, bond underwriting and sales, asset management, off-shore RMB trading, and risk management of the above-mentioned businesses.
Responsibilities
- Design transaction structures and prepare bilingual pitchbooks, including bond issuance proposals and pricing quotations.
- Assist in completing internal due diligence, arranging roadshows, reviewing documents, and managing transaction settlements.
- Develop project timelines, gather potential investor information, prepare related market analyses and reports, and provide debt financing advice to issuers.
- Support post-transaction activities, including clearing underwriting fees, managing other post-pricing expenses, and assisting with promotional efforts.
- Maintain communication with syndicate members to provide transaction proposals, including pricing, issuance timing, and scale.
- Consolidate investor order information and support the preparation for bond pricing and issuance.
- Collaborate closely with relationship managers, sales and trading teams, and legal and compliance teams during transaction execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or above in economics, finance, business administration, mathematics, or related disciplines.
- 1–2 years of work experience in debt capital markets, fixed-income underwriting or sales, or market research.
- Strong self-motivation, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Candidates with CFA or ECF certifications are preferred.
