Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino

Located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.

The beachfront resort is part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It comprises of 99 suites and villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with seven restaurants and bars.

Scope of Position:

The Senior Groups Sales Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales and will work closely with the Director of Commercial Strategy too.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with key clients and partners. 
  • Drives sales initiatives to establish Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino as a premier luxury destination, including preparing and implementing marketing actions.
  • Collaborates closely with the Director of Sales, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. 
  • Organizes and attends client engagement and industry partners’ activities, either at the resort or other national and international locations, when necessary.
  • Ensures a high-end luxury performance and communication style is followed in any opportunity given and respects the brand’s guidelines across the board.
  • Ensures all other administrative duties are completed to Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Standard Operating Procedures for the Sales Department
  • Supports Mandarin Oriental's philosophy and culture using Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
  • Promotes a behavior that remains open to continuous learning, is willing to share knowledge among team members and focuses on growing within their role.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • An established customer portfolio within the Groups & Events space including, but not limited to, international MICE Agencies, boutique high-end Group agencies, global corporate accounts’ events departments. A strong network of contacts within the Americas and EU Markets is required.
  • Proven track record in proactive Group Sales, ideally within luxury hospitality.
  • Advanced in marketing tools and software used to support Sales action plans.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. A confident professional with positive attitude and fresh ideas.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities with a highly proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, drive actions and results and continue performing well under pressure.
  • Proficient in English; one more language and a conversational level in Greek is a plus.
  • Fluency in Microsoft office, Salesforce, Cvent and other MICE-related platforms.
  • Flexibility to adapt work schedule in different market’s time zones, depending on business needs.
  • Flexibility to work in the Athens office, as well as on property, depending on business requirements.
  • EU Passport or Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
