We are recruiting a Maître d'Hôtel to join our Banquets Team.

The Banquet Maître d'Hôtel has operational responsibility for the Banquet Department.
In this position, he/she assists the Banquet Operations Director in the field.

Main Tasks

  • Checking the set-up work in compliance with the specifications laid down for the event
  • Welcoming customers with a smile, looking after the cloakrooms
  • Recruiting extras according to staffing requirements and supervising them for each event
  • Check menus (spelling, description, date, wines, etc.)
  • Ensure that service is monitored and controlled before and throughout the banquet
  • Be aware of the products served
  • Serve guests according to the hospitality principles of a 5-star hotel, respecting the expectations of the Mandarin Oriental and Swiss Deluxe Group
  • To deal with customer complaints in line with the LQE procedure and to refer complaints and all customer observations to Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Level of training: CAP/BEP/BTS qualification in catering
    Essential requirements: Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a luxury hotel.
  • Open-minded with good time-management, organization and communication skills, diligence and commitment.  
  • Ability to keep a positive attitude, to be creative and responsible.
  • Impeccably presented and professional.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
