The beachfront resort is part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It comprises of 99 suites and villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with seven restaurants and bars.

Scope of Position:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the safety and comfort of all guests, colleagues and visitors of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino and the maintenance and repair of all Resort assets including beach and landscaping. The Engineering Manager will take full responsibility for supervising in-house engineers to enforce engineering policies and procedures in accordance with MO corporate guidelines and ensure compliance to all local, state, and federal regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervisory guidance and supports to all Engineering colleagues within the Engineering Department.
  • Creates a safe and secure environment for our guests and colleagues by ensuring full compliance with MOHG’s Safe & Sound guidelines, as well as assisting the Director of Engineering in maintaining the physical asset to Local codes.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the Department.
  • Assists in the creation and implementation of Rooms, Spa & Public area Preventative Maintenance programs.
  • Effectively communicates upward, downward, and laterally.
  • Performs daily administration of the facilities main operating systems.
  • Assists in the compliance of all the Fire Life Safety Policies & Procedures and shares responsibilities with Director of Engineering on FLHSS.
  • Assists in the training of all colleagues in emergency procedure preparedness.
  • Is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Engineering Department.
  • Ensures Engineering Colleagues always comply with the hotel’s rules and regulations.
  • Adds support to the Engineers to complete routine assignments.
  • Performs tasks and duties as assigned by Director of Engineering and responds to directions given by any Executive Committee member.
  • Attends meetings (RMC, OPS, Sustainability, and other meetings) in absence of Director of Engineering.
  • Sets example for all Engineering Colleagues to emulate, by strictly following all Resort and departmental policies.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • EU passport or Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
  • Higher Diploma or Certificate in Building Services / Engineering.
  • Experience and knowledge when planning and executing work, so that it is completed in a professional manner without disturbance to guest or operating departments.
  • Competence in the efficient and effective repair, maintenance, and operating procedures, to comply with MOHG and regulatory requirements, as well as sound engineering practices.
  • Fluency in English & Greek.
