Scope Of Position

The Mechanical Plant Engineer is responsible for efficiently carrying out maintenance, repair and replacement work assigned by the Chief Engineer. He/She works closely with the Chief Engineer, Shift Engineer and other trades to carry out all duties assigned, in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as with the operation schedule. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for and carries out all plant PPMs.
  • Maintains, develops and enhances the PPM schedule for all plant equipment within the hotel.
  • Assists and supports the shift engineers on any mechanical plumbing problems that may arise. 
  • Reports any discrepancies and newly observed engineering problems to the supervisor and Chief Engineer as soon as possible.
  • Obtains all necessary information, documentation, and instruction to ensure that effective, efficient work is performed, and organizes this in a readily referenced manner.
  • Is responsible for the safe storage of both personal and borrowed tools. 
  • Is responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of all areas where work is performed. 

 Direct Areas of Responsibilities will include:

  • Boiler room and plantroom machinery
  • Chilled water chillers
  • Air handling units
  • Fan coils units
  • Split air conditioners
  • Supply and exhaust fans
  • Pumps
  • Pressurisation units
  • Kitchen production equipment
  • Kitchen dishwashing equipment
  • Laundry equipment
  • Sanitary services.
  • Booster pump systems
  • Water conditioning and disinfecting system
  • Spa and swimming pool equipment and miscellaneous equipment’s (steamer, sauna heater).

Health And Safety

  • Is aware of, and complies with, safe working practices, as laid down under the Health and Safety Local code and Company H & S Manual. This will include awareness of any specific hazards at the workplace.
  • Is aware of and complies with Food Acts.
  • Wears any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Resort.
  • Reports any defects in the building, plant or equipment, according to the Resort procedures.
  • Ensures any accidents to colleagues, guests or visitors are reported in accordance with Resort procedures.
  • Attends 6 monthly statutory fire training and is fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning, fire, health & safety.
  • Attends any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
  • Complies with all the MOHG policies and procedures.

Experience and qualifications

  • EU passport is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
  • Applicant must have a degree or diploma on Mechanical field.
  • Proven experience for at least 3 years in this role.
  • Have a good understanding in working with electricity 
  • Speaking, writing, and reading capability in English and Greek language.
