Scope of Position:

The Assistant Director of Housekeeping schedules and assigns cleaning and maintenance tasks to the housekeeping team on a regular basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all housekeeping team perform their duties in accordance with the hotel policies'.
  • Assists in formulating and establishing plans for all aspects of housekeeping management and operation.
  • Represents the Housekeeping Department when requested
  • Assists the supervision of housekeeping team to ensure that all daily activities meet compliance with housekeeping procedures and services standards.
  • Plans and coordinates an action plan for daily work schedules including special activities and reports depending on occupancy.
  • Manages the daily work schedule, reports and assignments to Housekeeping team.
  • Ensures all occupied suites & villas are cleaned and prepared according to the company's standards
  • Ensures key control procedures are followed and ensures that all keys are returned at the end of each shift.
  • Manages a daily inspection program to ensure guest rooms, back of the house and public areas are clean and supplied with necessary items and services.
  • Conducts regular inventories for linen, supplies and uniforms ensuring required stocks are maintained.
  • Stores safely and maintains all equipment, supplies and chemicals, as required.
  • Recommends renovation and repair needs for rooms and public areas.
  • Reports problems with materials and equipment, as well as health or safety hazards.
  • Responds to guest requests and immediately handles problems and complaints about housekeeping functions to maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Prepares the weekly roster and schedules in order to ensure all housekeeping functions are maintained and in order to minimize overtime payment.
  • Manages the recruitment of Housekeeping team
  • Conducts regular meetings with housekeeping team to follow up on the efficient and smooth operation of the department
  • Conducts performance reviews and sets individual targets for further improvement.
  • Assists with the training of new team members in coordination with the Learning & Development Manager to achieve the highest standard of services and guest satisfaction.
  • Instructs Housekeeping team about health & safety procedures and any other procedures related to external threats to the hotel for the security of the guests.
  • Ensures high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Ensures the maintenance of sanitation of all service areas.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • EU passport is mandatory in order to work in Greece
  • Minimum 3  years experience in hospitality, in a managerial/supervisory position
  • Knowledgeable about PMS and computer literacy
  • Fluency in English & Greek.
  • Strong overall computer literacy, not limited to MS Office
