Engineering Manager

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages all corrective and preventive maintenance work through the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • With the Maintenance Team, reviews the backlog report, work schedules, preventive maintenance plans and other reports produced by the Facility Planner. Ensures that the work can be done with efficiently and within the standards of the hotel.
  • Reviews preventive maintenance tasks and yearly work schedules for all equipment and that they are updated on a regular basis taking in to consideration revised regulations from Local Authorities, revised Corporate Standards as well as input from Engineering Team.
  • Takes leading role in establishing the objective for Maintenance Team. He further coordinates the operational activity of all trades to ensure that these objectives are reached.
  • Performs monthly inspections of the complete property and follows up on outstanding issues with the concerned Foremen. The inspection shall also cover responsibilities of the other departments with the intention to ensure the overall quality standards of the hotel.
  • Takes active part in the Emergency Response Team and is responsible for the follow up on operational as well as technical matters related to the Hotel Emergency Procedures.
  • Maintains the records, reports and documentation of all water treatment related topics and ensures that the adopted procedures are in accordance with the local regulations as well as the Corporate Standards.
  • Ensures that all engineering areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
  • Maintains an excellent relationship with all Local Authorities related to all trades.
  • Assists in establishing utility budgets and target consumption. Implements the energy conservation program for the electricity, gas and water to ensure that the targets are reached.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Building Management System.
  • Ensures that all equipment and installations in the hotel is installed and maintained in conformity with the all local rules and regulation as well as Corporate Standards.
  • Assists in establishing repair & maintenance budgets for the equipment. Establishes control procedures to ensure that the concerned costs are maintained within budget.
  • Assists in establishing outside service agreements and monitors the performance of the contractors.
  • Ensures that all procurement is made in accordance with the concerned Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensures that all Supervisors maintain records of the store items related to the equipment within their responsibility and ensures that minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Contributes with ideas in finding solutions for daily operational issues within the complete Engineering Department.
  • Maintains a good relationship with Guests, other Departments and fellow Technicians through the consistent display of outstanding LQE skills.
  • Adheres at all times to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group international Policies & Procedures and Fire Life Health Safety & Security and HACCP Standards.
  • To be conversant with the Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta Hotel Emergency Procedures. 
  • To perform Emergency Response Team duties as required.

 

Requirement:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years work experience as an Engineering Manager preferably within International Luxury Hotel Industry.
  • Experience with computerized engineering systems as well as computer literate.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of major technical equipment and installations such as chillers, air conditioning equipment, building management systems, water treatment, electrical installations, heating system, boilers and fire safety installations.
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills to drive service excellence.
  • Detail oriented, meticulous and quality driven.
  • Flexible, resilient and an independent functioning.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Role model in providing service excellence to our guests.
