Job purpose

The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible to prepare VAT returns according to due deadlines, European Sales Lists, (de)register entities for VAT for own diversified client portfolio with a close cooperation with senior VAT officers/VAT manager. From time to time, you will have direct communication with clients and VAT authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, annual VAT returns;

• Participate to the VAT registration and deregistration processes (corporates);

• Prepare answers in relation to VAT audits/tax authorities inquiries;

• On an irregular basis, liaise with the tax authorities, external advisors and clients;

• Discuss VAT issues and/or technical matters with Senior Tax Compliance Officers;

• Work closely and effectively with accounting teams;

• Execute all the necessary actions to have TMF Group and clients perform according to Compliance and VAT regulations;

• Take ownership of own development by following required and relevant trainings.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or tax;

• Good IT skills and excellent command of MS Office (Excel) are necessary;

• Good organizational skills and team spirit;

• Excellent English written and good verbal communication is required. Knowledge of German or French would be an advantage;

• Minimum 2-3 years’ working experience in accounting or/and (European) VAT compliance, preferably in an accounting or tax advisory firm with international environment.
