Job purpose
The Supervisor Compliance is responsible for overseeing the compliance operations within the organization, with a particular emphasis on ensuring adherence to regulations such as the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft), the Trust Offices (Supervision) Act (Wtt), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements. This role involves supervising the compliance team, providing training on relevant regulations, and acting as a key support to the Senior Compliance Officer and Head of Risk & Compliance NL.
Key responsibilites
Regulatory Training
Develop and deliver training on Wtt, Wwft, and CDD regulations.
Ensure staff are updated on regulatory requirements and assess training effectiveness.
Compliance Oversight
Supervise daily compliance activities, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
Support the implementation of the compliance program and monitor regulatory compliance.
Team Supervision
Manage and guide the compliance team, ensuring their performance and development.
Oversee workload distribution and ensure compliance deadlines are met.
Advisory Role
Provide expert advice on Wtt, Wwft, and CDD matters.
Assist in preparing reports and filings for regulatory authorities.
Client and Entity Management
Maintain client acceptance files and conduct periodic reviews.
Collaborate with Client Entity Managers to resolve compliance issues.
Monitoring and Reporting
Execute compliance monitoring programs and manage reporting of unusual activities.
Maintain compliance databases and manage related communications.
Special Projects
Lead or participate in special compliance projects and continuously improve policies and practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, or a related field, with significant experience in compliance roles.
In-depth knowledge of Wtt, Wwft, CDD regulations, and sanction laws.
Proven experience in supervising or managing a compliance team within a financial institution.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
Excellent Dutch and English written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in training and developing compliance professionals.
