About the role
We are recruiting for a Senior Business Change Manager to take ownership of business readiness across all corners of our organisation – from Retail and Garages to Support Centres, Distribution Centres, and our Customer Contact Centres. In this pivotal role, you'll apply our proven Transformation Business Change framework to shape and deliver impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, budget planning, and robust go-live strategies. Your leadership ensures that every change initiative is not only ready to launch but built to last as it transitions into business-as-usual operations.
This is a role for a transformation specialist who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and systems. Working closely with Programme Sponsors, key stakeholders, and the wider transformation team, you'll drive alignment between operational reality and strategic ambition. You'll play a key role in ensuring every initiative delivers on its business case – setting the standard for change that’s both effective and enduring. This is a real opportunity to make a tangible impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of our Business Change framework, identifying the impact of strategic process, policy, or proposition changes across all areas of the business.
- Bring together the right Change Agents, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to contribute meaningfully at every stage of change, from planning through to implementation.
- Take full ownership of business readiness budget planning, securing the right resources such as training, engagement tools, and SME support to ensure launch success.
- Track all business readiness activities, flagging risks early, influencing senior leaders, and providing practical solutions to keep change on course and aligned to user needs.
- Actively identify and mitigate obstacles to change, using deep understanding of each business area to minimise disruption and maximise adoption.
- Lead post-launch reviews and capture key lessons learned, using this insight to make smart recommendations and ensure long-term success of change initiatives.
- Own the transition from project delivery and hypercare into business-as-usual, ensuring a smooth handover and sustainable operations.
- Ensure every change delivers for both customers and colleagues by overseeing the full end-to-end journey – including digital paths, in-store experiences, and central support touchpoints.
About you
- You're an experienced change professional with a strong background in delivering impactful business change across a multi-site organisation.
- You will have a well-rounded understanding of business operations and strategic transformation.
- You bring hands-on experience in project or programme management, with real-world examples of leading large-scale, complex change initiatives in fast-paced, high-change environments.
- You’re a confident leader who influences effectively across all levels of the organisation – not just through direct authority, but by building trust, credibility, and strong relationships.
- You’re results-driven, with a proven ability to align business needs with transformation goals and turn strategy into sustainable outcomes.
- Ideally (but not essential), you hold a qualification such as APMG Change Management Practitioner (or equivalent), showcasing your commitment to professional excellence in change leadership.
