About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bid Manager to take ownership of scoping new tender opportunities and managing the end-to-end process of tender submissions for both new and existing clients.

No two days are the same in this dynamic role, which spans all products and services within Halfords for Business. You’ll work with a wide range of exciting and diverse organisations—across all sectors and sizes—showcasing the Halfords offering at the highest level of detail through complex bid processes.

To thrive in this position, you'll need a strong eye for detail, a methodical approach, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced, fast paced sales environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Scope tender opportunities and manage the end-to-end submission process, ensuring each bid is delivered to the highest standard.
  • Present to C-Level stakeholders and lead both contractual and commercial negotiations with tendering clients.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder representing Halfords for Business, supporting the Proposition Manager in shaping and developing new service offerings.
  • Gather and apply market insight to strengthen tender submissions and ensure they stand out against competitors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess bespoke client opportunities, ensuring they are commercially viable and aligned with delivery capabilities.
  • Manage and develop relationships across public and private sector frameworks, positioning our services for optimal selection.

About you

  • You have experience in a similar role, ideally within a bid, sales, or procurement environment.
  • You’re a confident communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • You bring a proactive, self-starting attitude and the drive to actively seek out and pursue new opportunities.
  • You understand the procurement process and have hands-on experience working with buyers and navigating tender requirements.
  • You’re analytical and able to understand client needs, tailoring your approach to meet their specific challenges and expectations.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple deadlines without compromising on quality.
