About the role

As a Senior Sales and Service Training Consultant at Halfords, you’ll be at the heart of developing and inspiring our people to deliver world-class customer service and drive high-performance sales. You’ll design, deliver, and evaluate engaging training programs that equip our colleagues with the tools, confidence, and behaviours they need to exceed expectations on the shop floor and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and driven training professional who thrives on making a real impact. Your expertise in sales and service will shape the way our teams connect with customers, turning everyday interactions into memorable experiences. If you’re an exceptional communicator with a passion for seeing others grow—then this is your chance to lead, influence, and make a difference at the UK’s leading automotive and cycling retailer.

This is a field-based role where you will split your time in the field, in our Support Centre in Redditch and working from home.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging training programs that enhance sales techniques, customer service excellence, and product knowledge.
  • Lead and manage large scale learning projects that deliver impact and business outcomes.
  • Deliver interactive training sessions to new starters and current employees, both in-person and virtually.
  • Evaluate the impact of training through assessments, colleague feedback, and performance metrics, adjusting content as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Group Head of Skills Development and key stakeholders to identify training needs and align with business goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to reinforce learning and promote a culture of continuous development.
  • Create and manage up-to-date training materials, guides, and resources to support all learning initiatives.
  • Compile and present regular reports on training delivery, effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement to senior leadership.

About you

  • Proven experience in sales and service people development, with a track record of delivering impactful, large-scale training programmes.
  • Skilled in designing and facilitating engaging training sessions that drive commercial performance and colleague growth.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent communication, presentation, and coaching skills.
  • Highly organised and solutions-focused, with strong problem-solving abilities and commercial awareness.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and training software to a high standard.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and adaptable.

(A full UK driving licence, occasional travel, and a DBS check are required for this role)

Reward & benefits

  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, car allowance, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, holiday buy & sell and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
