We’re looking for a Head of Group Risk and Control to join our dynamic finance leadership team and make a significant impact on the future of finance and corporate governance at Halfords. This is a unique opportunity to drive compliance across the UK’s leading provider of motoring and cycling services and products. 

About the role: 

• Lead a talented team of 9, driving their development and progression. 

• Take ownership of controls and compliance across Finance, including retail, garages and fleet.  

• Work closely with the Group CFO, Company Secretary, and executive leadership to ensure strong governance. 

• Lead transformation efforts with Finance to automate and improve systems and processes. 

• Report to the Audit Committee on progress and compliance with the latest Corporate Governance Code. 

About you: 

• Experience in designing and implementing controls, risk, and compliance strategies within a large corporate / plc environment. 

• Proven track record in driving transformation and managing risk and control functions. 

• Exceptional influencing and communication skills, especially with senior stakeholders and board-level executives. 

• Strong leadership abilities, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
