The role
As a UX/UI Designer you are passionate about creating user experiences with a real focus on accessibility, usability and cutting-edge UI design. You relish the opportunity to collaborate with your peers and the wider business to understand requirements and create user journeys that maximise customer satisfaction while driving business value.
You’ll be an advocate for key features and functionality, delivering robust research and testing making data driven decisions to enhance user journeys, and ensuring UX guidelines and principles are embodied in everything you do.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective design solutions
- Work within set UX guidelines and principles to ensure consistency and coherence across all touchpoints of user journeys
- Work with the Halfords UI kit and brand guidelines
- Use established best practice UX in all design work, providing feedback where appropriate on practicality
- Effectively manage workload, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and highlighting any changes to agreed scope and/or timelines
- Be the advocate for key features and functions that address the business objectives whilst meeting customer needs
- Accurately report working time spent on projects each week
- Work with the business to understand performance and impact of UX changes and iterate as appropriate to drive results
- For each project, deliver robust user research, concept testing, and usability testing; conduct competitive audits and market research - and convert findings into design decisions
- Immerse yourself in insights, competitor analysis, user research and qualitive and quantitative data to inform new ideas and optimisation
- Ensure all design works meets group accessibility guidelines
Take part and contribute to collaborative team processes, such as sprint dependency planning and weekly design critiques.
About you
- Bachelors Degree in Human-Computer Interaction or related field
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role with a portfolio showcasing previous UX/UI design projects and processes
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to make design decisions
- Be knowledgeable in accessible design and mindful of designing for different audiences
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and UX/UI design standards
