About the role

Due to internal development within the team, we’re excited to offer an opportunity for an Early Careers Administrator to support the continued growth of apprenticeships across the group. In this vital role, you’ll work closely with the Autocentres Early Careers Team Leader to deliver high-quality administrative support for our National Apprenticeship programmes.

You’ll be the first point of contact for all apprenticeship-related administration queries, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure everything runs smoothly. Your contribution will help shape the experience of apprentices and support the continued success of our early careers initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for all Autocentre Early Careers programmes, including apprenticeship recruitment, onboarding, and compliance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate HR and apprenticeship records, produce regular reports, and interpret key data to support decision-making.
  • Act as the first point of contact for apprenticeship-related queries via phone, email, Teams, and in person, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, training providers, colleges, and schools to support programme delivery and engagement.
  • Co-ordinate and attend careers events and internal initiatives such as National Apprenticeship Week, Apprentice of the Year, and programme launches.
  • Support operational tasks including contract returns, Right to Work checks, uniform orders, risk assessments, and college enrolments.
  • Work collaboratively with the Early Careers and People Development teams to deliver projects, support work experience programmes, and drive process improvements.
  • Be a proactive ambassador for Halfords Early Careers, helping to promote opportunities and support the wider People Development function when needed.

About you

  • You have experience in recruitment, apprenticeships, or early careers administration, and you're passionate about supporting people at the start of their journey
  • A strong communicator who builds relationships easily and engages confidently with colleagues at all levels, both virtually and in person.
  • Highly organised with a sharp eye for detail, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • You live and breathe the Halfords values, with a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and how to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Teams, Word and PowerPoint (experience with an ATS platform would be desirable).
