About us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co‑creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.

That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.

About the role

At Halfords, we're evolving how customers discover our products, services and expertise. We're looking for an experienced Performance Marketing Manager to lead this transformation, ensuring we're visible wherever customers research, search, discover and make decisions, from traditional search engines and social platforms through to emerging AI-powered experiences.

This is a senior, strategic role that sits at the heart of our digital marketing function. Working closely with our PPC, SEO and Social channel leads, you'll create a more connected approach to customer acquisition, identifying opportunities across channels and maximising the collective impact of our marketing activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a holistic view of performance across paid, owned and organic customer acquisition
  • Developing and delivering a cross-channel search and discoverability strategy across paid search, SEO, social and emerging AI-powered platforms
  • Identifying opportunities across channels and ensuring marketing activity works cohesively rather than in silos
  • Building a deeper understanding of how customers discover Halfords products, services and advice across search engines, social platforms and AI-driven experiences
  • Leading the development of Halfords' approach to AI search visibility and generative engine optimisation
  • Working closely with Content, Ecommerce, Technology, Data and Digital Product teams to improve discoverability across both traditional and emerging search environments
  • Partnering with Analytics teams to improve attribution, incrementality and marketing effectiveness measurement
  • Translating marketing performance into meaningful commercial outcomes, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, margin and lifetime value
  • Keeping the wider business informed on developments across search, AI, advertising technology and digital consumer behaviour

About you

  • Significant experience in senior performance marketing, search, acquisition or broader digital marketing roles
  • Strong expertise in both Paid Search and SEO, with a clear understanding of how paid and organic strategies work together
  • A solid understanding of social platforms and their increasing role in customer discovery and decision-making
  • Experience working across multiple digital marketing disciplines rather than within a single specialist channel
  • An understanding of how generative AI and AI-powered search are reshaping customer behaviour and online discovery
  • Proven experience developing cross-channel strategies and turning them into measurable business outcomes
  • Experience using attribution, incrementality and marketing effectiveness principles to optimise performance
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A natural curiosity for emerging technologies, changing customer behaviour and the future of digital marketing

Reward & benefits

  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • We offer hybrid working in our Support Centre, you will be based at our Support Centre 3 days a week with an optional 2 days working from home.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.

At Halfords, we operate a hybrid working policy with 3 days on site at our Support Centre in Redditch.
