Job Summary

The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at Drexel University is seeking to appoint a per diem research exercise instructor. The successful candidate will work on a research project titled “Investigating the impact of an evidence-based exercise program for older adults with osteoarthritis in an area of high socioeconomic disadvantage” funded by the Arthritis Foundation under the supervision of Laura Baehr, PT, DPT, PhD.

Research Program
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive research exercise instructor to support a pilot study investigating the impact of Bingocize, an evidence-based exercise program, delivered through our community partner organization to older adults with arthritis.

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.   

Essential Functions

  • The per diem research exercise instructor will be responsible to lead Bingocize, a National Council on Aging evidence-based group exercise program, to older adults.
  • Responsibilities include research safety and ethics training, online Bingocize instructor certification, and leadership of two Bingocize sessions at the community partner site. Bingocize meets two times per week for a 10-week session.
  • The study will run two full sessions of Bingocize during the study period.
  • The research exercise instructor will be asked to participate in exit interviewing at the end of the study period to determine Bingocize implementation facilitators and barriers. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED in
  • Minimum of 1+
  • Available for online training and in-person program instruction as indicated in job responsibilities.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
  • Flexible, committed and problem-solving attitude.

Additional Information

This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
