Job Summary

The Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions/Slate Communications strategist will be part of the Undergraduate Admissions team. The position is responsible for the communication coordination and strategic daily management of our Slate instance for both first year and transfer populations. This position will work closely with the Academic Information Systems team to ensure maximum efficiency and quality within the Slate instance. This position will be responsible for supervising a small team of admission representatives.

Key responsibilities include coordinating with departmental leadership to implement student enrollment strategies and manage resources to meet performance expectations. This position will provide leadership in the execution of the business plan, the control of the expenses and other managerial functions, as needed. The Associate Director/Slate Communications Strategist of Undergraduate Admissions ensures that the philosophy and values of Drexel University are clearly communicated to potential students while demonstrating deep academic program knowledge. This position requires moderate travel (up to 2 weeks of travel in the Fall and 2 weeks in the Spring), as well as working evening and weekend hours as assigned.

This is a hybrid position, working on campus several times a week.

Essential Functions

  • Build, review and launch all communications requests sent via the Slate CRM, builds and reviews communication recipient lists, rules and queries associated
  • Create and maintaining the list of query libraries to fulfill the undergraduate admissions and communication needs 
  • Onboard new team members providing Slate support
  • Supervise a team of Professional Staff, including goal setting, performance reviews, training, handling escalated issues/concerns.
  • Assist with the design and creation of communication reports and queries as requested for mailings or audits needed for selection. 
  • Serve as liaison to our Academic Information Systems Team
  • Create and execute audits regarding applications and selection.
  • Maintain a small recruitment territory
  • Participate in the development and execution of both short-term and long-term student recruitment strategy to ensure the objectives are met, and is responsible for implementing approved programs
  • Develop, direct and lead the coordination of student enrollment activities
  • Ensures that objectives, plans, budgets, policies, practices and actions are consistent with University policies
  • Work with campus partners to manage and execute the communications and marketing strategies of the undergraduate admissions team
  • Leads presentations to students and families about the university’s recruitment strategy
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous admissions/Slate experience
  • Working knowledge of the Slate CRM
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support events
  • Ability to travel domestically (up to 2 weeks of travel in the Fall and 2 weeks in the Spring)
  • Ability to achieve success individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while working in a collaborative setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation/public speaking skills
  • Positive and collaborative interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $60,240 - $90,350 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position will vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
