Jacksonville State University’s College of Business and Industry (CBI) is seeking to hire a scholar who also serves as the Department Head for the Department of Applied Engineering.
Graphic Designer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Athletics Graphic Design Coordinator will develop all collateral including print, digital, video board and social media graphics in an effort to raise brand awareness, increase attendance, generate revenue and maximize fan engagement, in addition to help recruit students for the University. The position helps creates the overall appearance of a wide range of communications products through the use of graphics, typography, content strategy, visual design, and animation to effectively deliver products to the targeted end user, specific to the Athletic Department.

Materials Handler II Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Materials Handler II in Capital Planning and Facilities performs a variety of tasks of a semi-skilled nature that involve both heavy and light physical labor. Acting independently or as part of a group, the Materials Handler II moves furniture, documents, fixtures, computers, boxes, and other objects from one location to another. Materials Handlers II may be the lead worker or supervisor over Materials Handlers I or student employees. Tasks will be reviewed while in progress and upon completion for compliance to instructions and policy.
Federal Work Study - Family and Consumer Sciences (Summer 2024) Jacksonville (CEPS Complex)
The duties of the Federal Work Study Student Assistant is to obtain work experience on campus in offices, labs, gym, the library, and other areas. Duties may include assisting staff and faculty with preparation for research, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, or performing administrative and other support duties as required. Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualification and departmental needs.
Adjunct Faculty - Family & Consumer Sciences (Summer 2024) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach courses in the program areas of Child Development, Child Life Studies, Human Sciences, Hospitality and Culinary Management, Merchandising, FCS Education, and Career Technical Education at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. These courses are offered in-person, hybrid, and online with experience in all three instruction methods preferred.
HVAC III Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Heating/Air Conditioning Mechanic III performs master level work in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, heating, and allied equipment. The Mechanic III services and maintains various refrigeration and air conditioning installations and equipment according to established trade practices and under the direction of the HVAC Supervisor. Tasks are reviewed for compliance with instructions and adequate completion. The HVAC Mechanic III works rotating shifts; special situations or emergencies may necessitate reporting on a scheduled off-day.
General Maintenance Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The General Maintenance employee performs skilled work in repairing, renovating, and maintaining University buildings, primarily residence halls and University-owned apartments. General Maintenance duties include electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. This could be a supervisory position with one or more student workers.
Groundskeeper Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Performs landscape functions to maintain and improve campus grounds.
Housing General Maintenance Supervisor Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Supervisor, Maintenance oversees those employees in the building trades skills such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, locksmiths and movers. Collaboratively, the Supervisor and his crews maintain, refurbish, and repair all University facilities so that they are sound, comfortable, and aesthetically appealing.
Manufacturing Engineer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for managing all additive manufacturing activities within the Center for Manufacturing Support (CMS), from the design process through production of finished parts and quality assurance. The Manufacturing Engineer will share responsibility with the CMS team for soliciting, planning, coordinating, organizing, and completing engineering projects and tests for regional manufacturing companies including, but not limited to, the use of advanced 3D CAD software, mechanical design packages, basic CNC machining, robotics, control systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The Manufacturing Engineer will support the Department of Applied Engineering students performing undergraduate research, course-related lab activities, and senior projects. Employees in this classification will work with a high level of independence, will report to, and be evaluated by the Director of the Center for Manufacturing Support.
University Student Assistant - Gamecock Guides (Fall 2024 - Summer 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Interested in being a student tour guide? The Gamecock Student Tour Guides administer daily tours to potential students and families, along with university employees and partners! As a front facing student leader, the Gamecock Guides are expected to uphold university branding standards, both on and off the clock, while being able to confidently illustrate one’s university knowledge. Gamecock Guides may be required to work event days such as Admitted Student Days, Preview Days and undergo mandatory team training. When not administering a tour, the Gamecock Guides will be assisting with daily administrative tasks such as answering calls, emails, and providing excellent customer service practices. This position will be under the direction of the Assistant Director of Campus Visits. Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
Housekeeper I Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Housekeeper I in Building Services performs routine cleaning of interior spaces and the immediate exterior area. Work assignments are primarily indoors and under close supervision.

The Housekeeper II in Building Services performs routine cleaning of interior spaces and the immediate exterior area. Work assignments are primarily indoors and under close supervision.
Custodial Maintenance III Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Custodial Maintenance III in Building Services performs housekeeping duties on the interior and exterior of buildings in addition to carrying or moving heavy equipment or supplies to different areas or buildings on campus. May use pesticides under close supervision and following special instructions on their use and safety. Complex duties may be assigned and a greater degree of independent judgment allowed. Instructions are received orally from supervisor. The Custodial Maintenance III may function as the lead worker with a small group of Custodial Maintenance I employees and Housekeepers.
Math Specialist K-5 AMSTI Anniston (McClellan Center), Jacksonville (Main Campus)
This position is a Math Specialist K-5 for the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI). This position answers to the Project Administrator of AMSTI and the Director of the Regional In-Service Center and is an eleven-month appointment. Travel is required. This position is renewable based on performance and annual funding from the Alabama Legislature
Adjunct Faculty-Orchestra Ensemble (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
