The department is also home to the JSU Center for Manufacturing Support (CMS), a state-funded center which serves to promote advanced manufacturing practices throughout the region and state. The CMS is an active presence in the manufacturing community, conducting applied research projects as well as training programs for industry. Three full-time engineers and several student assistants staff the CMS. The CMS is well-equipped with three state-of-the-art facilities: the Advanced Manufacturing Hub, the Additive Innovation Lab, and the Automation Hub. These facilities serve as instructional spaces for applied engineering courses, industry training, and applied research work.

This position requires the following:

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing or a similar field.

  • The successful candidate will also have accomplishments and credentials sufficient to meet the requirements of the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at JSU in teaching, service, and scholarly publications, which includes a minimum of five years of experience in higher education.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience administrating Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) or Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited programs.
