Job Summary:
The Research Analyst at the Center for Economic Development and Business Research serves as a key liaison between the College of Business and Industry and Northeast Alabama's business and government sectors. This role combines economic analysis, outreach, and program development to strengthen regional partnerships. The analyst manages technological and data resources, develops targeted business assistance programs, and conducts research projects delivering actionable insights to clients. Working closely with the Director, this position maintains strategic relationships and implements initiatives that drive economic growth across the service area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct economic and market research for regional business development
- Participate in the presenting of research to clients
- Manage and utilize research databases, software, and analytical tools
- Create detailed research reports and presentations
- Maintain stakeholder relationships across business and government sectors
- Market services to potential clients and partners
- Monitor and analyze regional economic trends and create actionable insights
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Economics, Business, Public Policy or related field
- Experience in economic development or business consulting
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills
- Proficiency in economic research methods and data analysis
- Excellence in stakeholder communication and relationship management
- Strong time management skills
- Quick thinking and solutions oriented
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong technical skills with research databases and analytical software
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; effective presentation of ideas and materials
- Experience working with census data, economic development reports, CPI, retail sales reports, labor force data

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in economic development or business consulting
- Knowledge of Northeast Alabama business landscape
- Grant writing experience
- Experience with GIS and economic modeling software
- Publication record in economic development
- Project management certification
- Bilingual capabilities
- Public speaking experience
