Salary:

$23.78 per hour, up to 19 hours per week

Job Summary:

The Part Time International Recruiter and Advisor is an in-person, hybrid position of recruiting for international programs and advising international students. International recruitment through webinars, in person events to recruit transfer F-1 students and other recruitment duties. Ensures international students and the University are following federal rules and regulations for F-1 and J-1 visa holders. Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the University and advises on visa, immigration and SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) processes. 

This job does not provide health insurance or retirement plan options.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for JSU’s F-1 and J-1 programs and advises on immigration matters.
  • International recruitment and other duties assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Previous experience in higher education, international education or related fields.
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident per Federal government requirements for SEVIS access.
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and work evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education recruitment experience
  • Knowledge of F and J visa regulations
  • Knowledge of SEVIS, Terra Dotta and related software
  • Exposure to a second language or cultures,
  • Experience studying or living abroad.
  • Experience working in an international student and scholars’ office.
