The Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences (BNS), part of the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML), is searching for part-time Adjunct Instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (master’s and doctoral) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, both lectures and laboratories. This posting is to ensure that we have strong candidates in our adjunct instructor pool for any immediate and/or future needs. Teaching opportunities may vary by semester.

Minimum qualifications:

  • For some undergraduate courses, a minimum of a master’s degree (doctoral preferred) in a relevant science field, with appropriate experience in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • For all graduate courses, and some undergraduate courses, a doctoral degree in a relevant science field, with appropriate experience in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • The desire and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Additional considerations:

  • Candidates having previous teaching experience at the university/college level will be given priority.
  • Candidates with qualifications to teach in more than one area will be given priority.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a part-time, non-benefited position under the Union of Adjunct Faculty, Local 1596, UAW. Please include a current CV and cover letter with your application. The names and contact information of three references may be requested upon completion of a screening interview. Submission of a teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations, and evidence of teaching is optional. Applicants will be reviewed if/when needed until a hire is made. The position may close within one year if no one is hired, at which time the posting would be refreshed to rebuild the adjunct pool.
