The Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) in Lisbon, Portugal, and the Saab Center for Portuguese Studies in the University of Massachusetts Lowell College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences announce the FLAD/Saab Visiting Professorship in Portuguese Studies for Spring Semester 2027. This program sponsors a one-semester, open-rank, Visiting Professor of Portuguese Studies at UMass Lowell. The program is open to Portuguese Academics presently teaching at a university in Portugal or abroad. The program contributes a Portuguese academic perspective to the curriculum of the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and, more specifically, supports the Portuguese Studies Program at UMass Lowell and the mission of the Saab Center for Portuguese Studies. The program further enhances the University's relationship with the regional Portuguese American community. For Spring Semester 2027, we seek a Visiting professor in the academic areas of Criminology, Film Studies, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Portuguese American Studies, or Sociology/Anthropology. The Visiting Professor will teach up to two courses in English and deliver one or more public lectures in their area of expertise. The program provides a competitive one-semester salary stipend. Senior AV Engineer 529690 Classroom Technology
The Senior AV Engineer is a technical staff lead responsible for ensuring the reliability and ongoing modernization of presentation technology in all instructional, administrative, and event spaces on campus. This role works on the Instructional Technology Support team to design, install, and maintain technical classrooms and conference rooms throughout the large, distributed, and urban UMass Lowell campus. The Senior AV Engineer has project management responsibilities for all new and refurbished spaces on campus requiring presentation and audio/video technology. Serving as a trusted advisor on classroom and conference room design and installation for all departments and disciplines, this role works closely with clients to understand use cases, present project budgets, and coordinate purchases for required equipment. The Senior AV Engineer is responsible for the setup and coordination of Technology Enhanced Classrooms, including ongoing maintenance and updates. This position reports to the Director of Instructional & Classroom Technology Services on new and refurbished classroom construction projects across all campuses and provides technical support and advice for high-profile special events across campus.

The Evolutionary Biomechanics and Functional Morphology Lab (www.konowlab.weebly.com), led by Dr. Nicolai Konow (https://www.uml.edu/sciences/biology/people/konow-nicolai.aspx) in the Department of Biological Sciences at University Massachusetts Lowell (https://www.uml.edu/sciences/biology/) invites applications for a Post-doctoral Research Associateship (non-tenure track) to assist in studies aimed at determining the effects of inactive mass on muscular force production and work, funded by a National Institutes of Health Award. Experience with animal research, isolated (in situ) muscle ergometry, in vitro muscle testing, and/or instrumentation of muscles for in vivo measurements are desired qualifications. The principal role of the Post Doctoral Research Associate is to work on projects alongside the PI and other lab members. Key features of the role of the position will also be to perform major research functions on existing grant(s) and develop research proposals and form collaborations to support future research.

This position serves as the primary functional administrator for document management systems and provides cross-support for related platforms including DocuSign, Salesforce, Form Assembly, Perceptive Content, ServiceNow, and other integrated cloud-based applications. The Senior Analyst collaborates with university stakeholders to analyze, design, implement, and support digital document, form, and workflow solutions. This role works in close coordination with UMass System Information Technology Services (UITS) and works with the Softdocs vendor as needed to support system operations, integrations, and issue resolution, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and university information security standards.
