 We are seeking a strategic, multi-disciplinary Domain Architect with strong expertise in designing integrated, scalable, and secure technology solutions across application, data, and integration layers. This essential role supports our Emerging & Strategic Solutions (ESS) Agile Release Train (ART), with a specific focus on delivering stable and secure systems that power our Financial Solutions offerings for Institutional Annuity & Investment products. ESS seeks to drive meaningful revenue growth via high-quality, predictable profitability with enhanced diversification to the overall enterprise product portfolio.  We are focused on multi-year modernization and operational excellence journey to enable self-service for our customers across workstreams and enhance administrative capabilities to drive scalability. 
This position bridges enterprise strategy and solution delivery providing technical and architectural leadership for systems that directly impact the day-to-day experience of our ESS customers, users, and internal delivery teams. It will focus on building and evolving scalable intuitive, secure, and resilient platforms that enable proactive support, seamless interactions, and scalable business capabilities.  
As the Lead Domain Architect, you will shape and define a shared technical and architecture vision for the ART.  You are responsible for sharing that vision, leading change, and enabling implementation through solution architects & engineers. This position sits between enterprise architecture and solution architecture, providing a broad governance over the full business product life cycle (proposal to service) and domain for institutional annuity and investments products.  Your ability to simplify complexity, influence product and delivery direction, and collaborate across disciplines will be pivotal in driving forward Mutual of Omaha’s commitment to business growth.

- Estimated Salary: $160,000 - $185,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

 WHAT YOU'LL DO: 
- Architecture Leadership with Agility & Adaptability:  Defines and communicates a shared technical and architectural vision for the ART that informs and influences decision making for business and IT leadership.  Align architecture to enable business priorities.   Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end technology solutions that expertly leverage technology. Ensure that architecture decisions prioritize architectural consistency, interoperability, and scalability across multiple solutions.    Ensure strategic architecture coherence within the ESS strategic business unit’s (SBU) solutions.    Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical leaders to align technology decisions with levers for success.  Enable system capabilities and automation that drive scalable business growth.  Support a diversified operational leverage product set in any economic environment.   Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership for technology investment decisions.
 
- Domain Strategy Alignment and Solution Governance:  Translate enterprise-level principles into actionable architecture strategies for the ESS SBU domain. Create architecture roadmaps for products and platforms supporting that area.  Ensure that multiple related solutions — often delivered by different teams — integrate properly and adhere to shared domain standards (e.g., shared data models, APIs, security).  Provide architectural oversight for all solution designs within the workstream, ensuring alignment to domain architecture and enterprise guardrails.  Foster Built-in Quality and Tend to NFRs. 
 
- Innovation & Experience Optimization: Drive architectural innovation by identifying emerging technologies and scalability-enhancing patterns. Lead experiments and proofs-of-concept focused on reducing friction, latency, and manual effort in user interactions. 
 
- Agile Delivery Enablement through Collaboration and Mentorship: Partner with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders to ensure each solution fits within the broader business and technical roadmap. Act as a key contributor within the Agile Release Train (ART), actively participating in PI planning, backlog refinement, and delivery ceremonies. Provide architecture guidance that empowers teams to deliver incrementally toward achievement of business outcomes.   Coach engineers, analysts, and product owners on architectural runway and best practices.  Promote shared responsibility for business outcomes and foster continuous improvement of architectural and system design. 
 
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the evolution of core systems and capabilities over time, including modernization, legacy system decoupling, and cloud migration strategies.

 WHAT YOU’LL BRING: 
- 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience (data, application, integration, cloud) with demonstrated success in leading at a domain level across the entire product value stream for multiple products, accomplishing through multiple teams (5-10).
 
- Deep knowledge of the business processes and technical landscape for the financial services institutional annuity and investments domain.
 
- Ability to balance business priorities with technical feasibility to inform effective decision making across IT and business leaders.   Demonstrated success in considering a broad view of stakeholder concerns and articulating thorough trade-off evaluation in order to act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership for technology investment decisions.
 
- Experience with domain-driven design, event-based systems, and modern API development. Skilled at creating reference architectures, roadmaps, and technology blueprints.
 
- Effective communicator, capable of aligning and inspiring diverse teams around architecture and experience goals.  Strong collaboration and influence across product, engineering, and enterprise architecture teams.
 
- Commitment to continuous learning, inclusion, and agile delivery culture. Understanding of the SAFe framework and ART collaboration patterns preferred.

- Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

 PREFERRED: 
- TOGAF Certified with Financial Services industry experience, particularly with Institutional Annuity and Investment products. 
 
- Experience with any or all of the following:  Agentic AI based solution architecture, data architecture within the financial institutional investment and annuity domain, product definition architecture
 
- Familiarity with AWS, event streaming (Kafka), and integration platforms (MuleSoft).
